I'm starting a Book Club!

I'm so thrilled about this. It's called Good Books Only, and it will be quarterly. We'll talk about books we've read, upcoming books to add to your stack, and appropriate seasonal reads.
There will be a special guest each time; I'm so excited that the first guest will be the one and only Lucy Mangan talking about Bookish, her ode to reading. I can't imagine a more perfect launch for what i hope will be something really exciting. Come! There's a glass of wine and lots of fun extra things and it's going to be a great evening. Follow me on instagram or my newsletter for details of the next Good Books Only.

The Treasures
Out now in hardback!
My new novel, The Treasures, is the first in a trilogy about a family, and a house over several decades. It was published in June & I'm thrilled at the reception from readers and fellow authors
The Treasures is Book 1 in the trilogy. It's about Tom Raven and Alice Jansen, how they meet, the secret that binds them, and what brings them together. It opens in 1965 in upstate New York and moves to Scotland, Notting Hill in the 50s, and Manhattan in the febrile, seismic summer of 68.
I've always wanted to write about a family from start to finish, their beginnings and the decades that follow. This trilogy will take us from the Second World War to the present day. I'm writing Book 2 right now...

‘D is for Death’
Longlisted for the CWA Crime Novel of the Year Award 2025 (!)
Out now in paperback, kindle & audiobook
‘An absolute delight,
perfect for fans of classic crime’
Irish Times
‘You understand, don’t you Mr Dryden. Nothing worse than the sound of a book’s spine being cracked.’
D Is for Death, my first murder mystery, was published in paperback in Feb 25. I’m thrilled at the reception it’s had both from readers and reviewers. It’s the first in a series featuring detective Dora Wildwood, who runs away from a terrible engagement to London in 1935. Seeking solace in her favourite place, the London Library, she discovers a dead body and has to turn detective to try and solve the murder. In my wildest dreams I never thought I'd get to call myself a crime writer. They are a lovely bunch and I really hope there will be more Dora Wildwood mysteries to come. And I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it.
’An instant classic. I loved it so much – Marian Keyes
A fun, charming mystery with a brilliant heroine you'll fall in love with! ― Good Housekeeping
‘This isn't your average cosy crime novel. With an Agatha Christie-esque murder mystery and a perceptive, hugely likeable amateur sleuth to guide the way, this is an entertaining and nostalgic whodunnit with vivid period detail’ – Culturefly
‘A charming and authentic ode to Golden Age crime fiction and to books in general’ – Chris Brookmyre
