The brilliant Persephone Books is having its first literary festival and I am thrilled (and honoured) to have been asked to participate. And what an event this will be. Rachel Joyce, Lucy Mangan and I have an hour to discuss one of the most enduring mysteries of 20th-century fiction - why does Whipple not enjoy the acclaim she deserves? Whether or not we come up with the definitive answer, we'll certainly enjoy the discussion.
